Is Heights Aerial Media licensed and insured?
Yes. We hold an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, which is the federal license required for all commercial drone operations in the United States. We are also fully insured with $1 million in liability coverage on every mission. Certificates of Insurance (COIs) are available upon request.
Can you fly drones in New York City?
Yes. Heights Aerial Media is authorized to operate in NYC's controlled airspace — including the Class B airspace over Manhattan and all five boroughs — using the FAA's LAANC (Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability) system. Most drone operators cannot legally fly in NYC without this authorization. We have it on every flight.
